Winter Wind, Brown and Grey

The slumbering earth is bare of its Winter blanket. The dead, brown leaves are free to blow to and fro. Today the wind is especially strong forming funnels of crispy, faded leaves in front of my window. Sometimes they are thrown violently against the glass crackling like ice. An audible gust takes up the leaves with no warning, shoving hundreds of them in a horizontal dash across my view.

Bare, spidery trees are framed perfectly by the vertical window panel. They contrast with the deep green of the fir tree in the other panel. Side by side, these windows give me two different perspectives no matter the season. The boughs of the fir bounce and wave vehemently in protest to the Winter wind. The spider trees are much more stoic.
